THANK YOU, 2020 EVENT CHAIRS

Justin and Jennie Davis

Justin and Jennie Davis have been married for 14 years and have four unique and talented children, Emma, James, Matthew, and Henry. Justin graduated from the University of Kansas Medical Center and is now a practicing neurosurgeon at KU. Jennie earned her Masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism and hopes to use her degree this school year.

Jennie and Justin’s son James has autism. He was diagnosed at the age of 2 1/2 and since then they have been fully immersed in the autism world. Jennie and Justin are always looking for ways to connect to and contribute to the autism community. They know the struggles of a first time diagnosis and they want to do what they can to help and support others. James is the most hilarious kid and because of him Jennie gathered up the courage to be a comedian for An Evening with the β€˜Rents in March 2019 to benefit Camp Encourage. It ended up being a great way to share stories about James and find the humor in what were quite frustrating moments at the time. James also was able to attend Camp Encourage for the first time last summer and he had an amazing time! Both Jennie and Justin are comedians in this year's An Evening with the β€˜Rents and are excited to share more stories about James!

The Davises are honored to have been asked by Camp Encourage to be the honorary co-chairs for S’mores and Pours. They are happy to help Camp Encourage continue to provide a place of acceptance and fun for those children on the autism spectrum.

Oliver Busenhart

Oliver is 13 years old and is in 8th grade at Cure of Ars Catholic School. He lives happily with his parents and one sibling.

Oliver has attended Camp Encourage for five years. Some of his favorite things about camp are zip-lining, horseback riding, swimming, and tie-dying. He loves being with the other campers and counselors at camp, and enjoys seeing the heartfelt messages on signs as he enters the campgrounds. His favorite color is purple!
