Hi Everyone! My name is Lauren Jadlowski. I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and just graduated from Benedictine College with my degree in Special Education and Elementary Education.
Empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings for others. This quality is shared throughout all of the campers and counselors at Camp Encourage. When people have empathy it allows others to feel comfortable to be their true selves. When children and adults feel carefree you can really see the joy and happiness on their faces. This is the beauty of Camp Encourage, children coming out of their shells and feeling comfortable being who they are. It is a carefree and such an expecting place where we encourage each camper (and counselors) to remember that they are loved, enough, and noticed. I wish the world was as loving and accepting to everyone especially our friends on the spectrum as camp is. This place is truly amazing to both its campers and volunteers & this is why people come back.
