The Mission of the Camp Encourage Young Professional Board is to promote Camp Encourage’s vision to a wider audience of fresh volunteers outside the autism community.
The Young Professional Board (YPB) was founded and currently led by Brie Hussey, President and Vince Rosqueta, Vice President. The group of young professionals, between the ages of 21 and 40, meet every other month (and are presently meeting virtually through Zoom).
INTRODUCTIONS AND WHY THE YPB WAS FORMED
My name is Brie and I am a NICU nurse here in Kansas City at The University of Kansas Medical Center. I have been involved in volunteering at Camp Encourage for eight years now.
I have acted in many different roles over the years and wanted to get even more involved. Being involved in other local nonprofits, I saw how much a Young Professional Board can bring in new ideas and new people. The moment you become involved with Camp Encourage, you immediately feel immense love and the “magic.” It is my happy place and I want to be a part of its growth and bring others in to this wonderful community.
My name is Vince and I am an Intensive Care Nurse at Menorah Medical Center. I became involved with Camp Encourage in 2020 by helping with their videographer needs. Brie reached out to me to help start this board so we can grow this camp community and reach young working professionals who want to be more involved but don’t know where to start.
